How Our Favorite Superhero Was Created

I had a blast making this, and as previously portrayed, I love illustrating my stories even though they are VERY time consuming to do. I made this via, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Comic Life. Overall, I am very satisfied with this comic and my Cinderella one.

32. Story 1: A Cinderella Story

When we were assigned to tell stories this week, the first thing my mind jumped to were short stories, lyrics, and fairytales. I was inspired to do something with Cinderella because I’ve already done so much with Life Savers and pumpkins, and the experience of a Life Saver should be “magically”–which led me to the idea of doing something with Cinderella. I also thought it would be good because the ball is like a masquerade, which reminds me of Halloween.

This took me two days to draw and put together using Illustrator and Comic Life Deluxe.
PS: I know Cinderella’s face looks gross in the first frame, but I am too lazy to fix her eyes.

31. Crazy Circle

Working with a no directive, I really didn’t know what to do, but I knew I wanted to draw and make something crazy, hence my crazy circle. Because I can’t draw a perfect circle, I printed out the circle with the words “Life Savers” in it and then took a sharpie to it.

30. Witch Craft

For a while now, I’ve been wanting to make the cover for a card in a scrapbooking style. With Halloween next weekend, I thought what better time to do it than now? My idea behind this piece is that the appearance of the witch is the trick, yet her green Life Saver face is the treat.

29 The Proposal

Even though there was no directive this week, we were told to do something different. Normally, all of my ideas come from little drawings and sketches, so I thought I would try just drawing this piece full out. I know the idea of a “proposal with a Life Saver” is unoriginal, but it is something I’ve wanted to do this entire time. Side Note: originally I had written out the text, but it didn’t show up well when I photographed it, so I added the text in Photoshop.

28. DC’s Science Fair: The Life Saver Race

Yesterday, Saturday October 23, 2010 I went to the Science Fair in Washington, DC. There were a lot of cool things there, but what interested me the most was that they were passing out free Life Savers and people were making Life Saver cars and racing them! I realize that I didn’t do much for this post, but I did make my own car and race it! The point of the race [instructions] was to use the give materials, blow on your car, and see who would get the furthest. It was a lot of fun and the best part was that they’d give you as many Life Savers as you wanted!

Something to be jealous about:
I also met Bill Nye the Science Guy at the Science Fair.

27. Fight Back Against Dolphin Killing

This is in no way shape or form intended to be racist (…my roommate told me to point that out). Anyways, as I have stated before, I was inspired for this week’s concept by The Cove, which is a 2009 documentary about the slaughtering of Dolphins in Taiji, Japan by the Japanese. This illustration is suppose to represent “saving a dolphin’s life by fighting back against what is wrong.” I drew everything in this photo in Illustrator CS5, except for the Life Savers logo, and it took about 4 hours to complete.
