54. Shock Value 2

After 13 weeks, Project 54 is finally COMPLETE!!!!

I really wanted my last piece to involve one of my Life Saver characters that I had previously created during this project. I was very inspired by when I Google-searched “Controversy” and found an x-ray picture of Pamela Anderson, which made me think of the M&M’s with Pretzels campaign. Using both of those ideas, I was inspired to create something along the lines that would “shock” people to find out what I think Life Savers are really made of, and for them to know what they are truly eating whenever they pop a Life Saver in their mouth.

53. Shock Value 1

I have so many friends with lip tattoos and I always end up asking myself “Why?” but then again that’s just me and my tattoo preference. My friend from middle school just recently got a tattoo on her stomach and they forgot one of the T’s in the word “brightest,” so my other friends and I have been calling it an “attoo” because they forgot the T. That was completely random story about tattoos, but basically tattoos basically always make me think “Why?” which is why I decided to do something like this.

After seeing a wreath made of leaves, I was inspired to making something like it out of cut up Life Savers.

Since I really didn’t know what to do, I simply just made another Life Saver turkey, but this time only using Illustrator.

No, I did not actually make this, I’m sorry to say. But while I was home over break, my mom and I were looking at cute holiday crafts to make and I came across this cute little guy. I thought it would be really cool to make a Life Saver Turkey lollipop. And yes, I photoshopped this picture to display my idea concept.

When we first received this directive, I was completely clueless on what I was going to do because I had already something for Thanksgiving last week. So I just decided to make a simple list of things I am thankful for.

48. Elephant in the Room

In my Awkward Turtle post, I had talked about my brain storming process and how an awkward song had gotten me thinking about an “elephant in the room.” I created this all (minus the background that I found on the internet) in Illustrator, NOT Photoshop. Anyways, I was thinking if there was an elephant in the room, than there would have to be an unspoken problem (who’s going to eat the cheese), and the elephant would just be completely ignored. I gave the elephant Life Saver ears, that way he could hear what each mouse was thinking. No this image has nothing to do with the promotion of Life Savers, the elephant is just using them for better hearing.

Yes, my elephant drawing was inspired by Dumbo.
